Scary Videos of Real Ghosts — When I first saw this clip, it was the original 20 minute version in Portuguese and it was hard to follow what was going on. At the very end, it all becomes quite clear. I found this condensed version with English subtitles and it does a much better job of presenting this scary accident scenario!

These scary ghost videos are collected from many different sources. Often, the producer of the clips is not know. In this case, it is believed that the videotape was found by police in Portugal at the scene of an accident.

If the opening sequence to this video seems familiar and you think of various movie projects which were made in a similar style, you will probably not be alone. Many have expressed that this tape seems produced, but even if it is a clever scary ghost story fiction, it is extremely well done and believable enough to merit watching.

The video is simple enough. It is based in Portugal and filmed using night vision by one of three passengers travelling in a car along the roads at night. The oroginal version was much longer than this clip, but essentially, two young men and a woman are in the car and talking while they drive along.

As they travel through the streets and find their way out in the country, the young man in the back seat is video taping their ride using the night vision feature of the camera. The eerie green glow of the faces and overall dark outside setting certainly add to the creepiness of the taping. While watching it for the first time, I did not really know what to expect, but there was definitely a sense od impending doom.

As the trio ride along in the country, they come up to a beautiful young woman hitch hiking at the side of the road. The stop to picke her up and she gets into the back seat with the fellow filming. Each time the camera makes direct contact with the young passenger’s face, the screen becomes distorted and the sound shrills. Whether this is post production special effects or the real deal, it sends a shiver up the spine.

The young travellers ask the girl what she is doing out on the side of the road alone at night and she explains that she was in a car accident and died. Just as the group comes to grips with what she has told them, she points to an area ahead of them at the side of the road and exclaims that this was were she died.

At the same time the car crashes and the camera goes still. According to police in Portugal, three passengers were found in the car. Two had died from the crash, and the girl who is seen in the video killed several years ago. This may be a renactment of a popular local urban legend, but it is done well enough to serve as a reminder that sometimes, the dead don’t stay dead!
